PRSSA Scholarship Winner Announced!

The Madison Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America congratulates Matthieu T. Vollmer, of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, on winning the 2011 PRSA-Madison/PRSSA Scholarship Competition. The PRSA-Madison Scholarship Committee was impressed with all portions of Matt's application and is pleased to award him a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of his academic achievement, PRSSA participation, and excellence in studies and activities related to public relations.

The award was presented to Matt at the 10th annual Alchemy Awards.

A Note From Matt:

"On behalf of the UWSP chapter of PRSSA and myself, I would like to thank PRSA-Madison and the award selection committee for sponsoring the PRSSA scholarship and for all of their time and efforts!  I was truly honored to receive the award. I had a great time at the luncheon and was very thankful to be in the presence of so many talented and wonderful people."

PRSSA Scholarship

The Madison Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is committed to advancing the public relations profession and established the scholarship program in 1999 to support college students pursuing careers in the field. PRSA-Madison offers a $1,000 college scholarship to recognize scholastic achievement, participation in Public Relations Student Society of America, and excellence in studies and activities related to public relations.

To be eligible for the PRSA-Madison scholarship, students must:

  • be enrolled in good academic standing at UW-Madison or UW-Steven's Point

  • have junior or senior status during the academic year of the competition

  • belong to their school's PRSSA chapter

  • be majoring in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field

  • be planning to pursue a career in public relations

  • have achieved a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
