Consider Donating To The PRSA Scholarship Fund

Each year, the Madison Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has the challenge of raising funds in order to give out college scholarships of $1,000. If donation levels can sustain it, a $500-scholarship is awarded to a second deserving student. We hope you can help with that effort.

Public relations students on the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campuses compete for the chance to gain this recognition from established public relations firms and individuals.

As you know and particularly in this difficult economic climate, students can be strapped for finances and often commit to non-paid internships to supplement their PR experience. That’s why this recognition and support for the future of the profession is so important.

Past scholarship recipient, Brescia Cassellius, is the kind of stellar aspiring professional we were pleased to help. Brescia has held three leadership positions within PRSSA, interned with a Madison marketing/pr firm, worked for the office of University Communications in Madison, participated in campus choirs and has been an active volunteer with high schools in her hometown over the summers.

Following her undergraduate work, Cassellius intends to pursue a master’s degree in strategic communication and eventually, “Produce and manage public relations and advertising for a non-profit company with a compelling mission…I want to use my knowledge and expertise to further a meaningful cause.”

We are asking you and/or your business for a contribution to this scholarship fund—and no donation is too small. Please note that all donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You can even donate in memory of someone else. Please take the time right now to make a contribution.

We need your financial support to keep the scholarship program going so we can continue helping students such as Brescia. To donate, please e-mail PRSA's treasurer at treasurer@prsamadison.org.

Thank you in advance for your support.
